School Philosophy

At Riverbend Playschool, we believe that children learn through play and that learning should be fun. Through the use of themes, activities, songs, books, crafts and field trips, our students learn by participating, experimenting and experiencing. We want our students see the world as an opportunity to learn and have fun. This attitude will serve them well throughout their school years and beyond.

We believe it is important to encourage the social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development of each child, and we recognize that while each developmental element is important, progress in all is necessary in order to build a child’s positive self-esteem and his or her unique personal attributes.

We believe that a child’s education is the cooperative responsibility of many people. The interaction between teachers, teachers’ aides, classmates, parents and others in the community plays an important role in a child’s development. We believe that when parents are involved in their child’s education, the entire family benefits and the specific child’s achievement levels tend to rise. As a cooperative, Riverbend Playschool works in partnership with the parents to enhance the children’s growth and development, and provide a safe learning environment.
